1st Snow of the Season!

We woke up to white this morning.  The kids were happy about it, me not so much.  It didn't last too long, however...it's all but gone now. Since it snowed on the 9th, it will only snow 9 times this winter (so they say)...that seems a bit unlikely for Iowa.  It would be nice though!

Digging Out

It's a little snowy out there this morning!  I am not sure on official totals for Marion County, but Des Moines totals are around 7.7".  I am sure we have a bit more than that.  The wind howled last night and we have some pretty big drifts this morning...nothing like Chicago's 20" though, thankfully.  Spring, would you please be so kind as to hurry up a bit?  I am dreaming of your warm sunshine and green grass.
